The Family Services Workforce Development Center in the
Muskegon / Oceana County Area provides employment services to the public.
We manage a variety of programs which offer additional employment and training
opportunities to qualified individuals. Eligibility varies from program to
program and from person to person.
Labor Exchange -
Our centers are equipped with computers for Internet job search and resume
development. Our friendly staff is available to assist individuals who are
not familiar with computers. This services is available to anyone in the
community. There are no eligibility requirements for participation.
Resource Room-
Michigan Works! Service Centers provides a variety of resource
materials to assist you in finding a good job.
Employability skills training manual, video's and DVD's provide solid advice on
topics such as interviewing, networking and resume development. Labor
market statistics, occupational information, training providers and community
service information are also available.
Educational Services -
Do you need to refresh your math or reading skills? Perhaps you are in need
of a high school diploma, GED or English as a second language. Michigan
Works! Services Centers provides access to all these Adult Education services.
Additional vocational training may also be
available.
On-The-Job-Training -
This program assists eligible participants with employment and training
opportunities by developing contracts with local employers. Participant
benefit by learning new skills while they work. Employers benefit by being
reimbursed up to 50% of the trainee's wage during
and approved training time. On-The-Job Training can be developed for
people at all skill levels - from entry-level positions to professionals - as
long as there is legitimate training involved.
Veteran's Assistance -
Veteran's Employment Specialist's are on site to provide additional services
to veterans during specific days of the week.

Vocational Rehabilitation
Counseling - If you have a physical, emotional or learning
disability that is affecting your ability to work, our service centers can
refer you to a rehabilitation counselor or can
provide on-site assistance.
Older Worker Services
- Information is available regarding special employment and training
programs and services for senior citizens. Some centers have Older Worker
Specialist's on-site to assist you.
